AC Milan have opened formal negotiations with Chelsea over a permanent transfer for forward Christopher Nkunku, according to multiple reports late Wednesday. Discussions centre on a fee yet to be agreed, but sources close to the talks say the 26-year-old France international is keen on the move and personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle. Nkunku, who joined Chelsea last summer from RB Leipzig, is also attracting interest from Bayern Munich and his former club Leipzig, but Milan are understood to have made the first concrete approach in the final days of the Italian transfer window. The Rossoneri turned to the Frenchman after their pursuit of Sporting striker Conrad Harder stalled earlier in the week when the Portuguese club altered the financial terms of that deal.
