Arsenal Football Club has reached an agreement to sign Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP after protracted negotiations. The transfer fee agreed upon includes a fixed amount of €63.5 million (£55 million, $75 million) plus up to €10 million in potential add-ons, totaling approximately €73.5 million. Gyökeres has expressed a strong desire to join Arsenal exclusively and has refused to return to Sporting CP's pre-season training, leading to disciplinary actions from his former club. Arsenal's sporting director Andrea Berta played a key role in advancing the talks, which saw a face-to-face meeting in Portugal. Gyökeres was presented to Arsenal fans in Singapore during the club's pre-season tour, where he donned the iconic No. 14 shirt previously worn by Thierry Henry. The signing is viewed as a strategic move by Arsenal to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League season.
