Colombian striker Jhon Durán has joined Turkish club Fenerbahçe on a one-year loan from Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr. The deal was finalized in early July 2025 after Fenerbahçe submitted an official proposal and received approval from Al Nassr, who agreed to cover Durán's full salary until June 2026. Durán, 21, had signed for Al Nassr in January 2025 from Aston Villa in a transfer reportedly worth €77 million with a contract through 2030. He is set to earn an annual salary of €10 million at Fenerbahçe. The loan agreement does not include an option to buy, signaling that Durán's future beyond the loan remains uncertain. Shortly after arriving at Fenerbahçe, Durán missed the club's first pre-season training session, prompting criticism from head coach José Mourinho, who described the absence as "a lack of respect" and warned of consequences for not following club rules. Fenerbahçe later issued a statement denying Mourinho made any public comments regarding Durán and confirmed the player had joined the team in Portugal for training. Durán's move marks a return to European football after brief stints in Saudi Arabia and the United States, having also played in England and Colombia by age 21.
