Liverpool FC has reshaped its back-room staff for the 2025-26 campaign, naming former Netherlands captain Giovanni van Bronckhorst as assistant coach under manager Arne Slot. The 50-year-old, who has previously managed Feyenoord, Rangers, Guangzhou and Besiktas, joins the Premier League champions subject to securing a work visa. The club also confirmed that Spaniard Xavi Valero will return to Anfield as head of first-team goalkeeper coaching after seven seasons in the same role at West Ham United. Valero replaces Fabian Otte and Claudio Taffarel, who are leaving the goalkeeping department. The appointments are part of Slot’s effort to finalise his technical team ahead of pre-season training later this month.
