Aston Villa has signed Dutch goalkeeper Marco Bizot from France’s Stade Brestois 29 for an undisclosed fee, the Premier League club announced on 15 July. Bizot, 33, joins Unai Emery’s squad ahead of Villa’s return to the Europa League next season. The transfer ends Bizot’s four-year spell in Brittany, where he played every league match last season and conceded 34 goals in 34 Ligue 1 fixtures. His consistency helped Brest secure a historic third-place finish and qualify for the UEFA Champions League for the first time. A product of Ajax’s academy, Bizot has previously represented Groningen, Genk and AZ Alkmaar and earned his first Netherlands cap in 2020. Villa did not disclose contract length or salary terms.
