Keylor Navas’ first home appearance for Pumas UNAM ended in a 1–1 draw against Necaxa in Mexico City, as the Costa Rican goalkeeper conceded his maiden goal in Liga MX. Play was hampered by a heavy downpour that left standing water on the Estadio Olímpico Universitario pitch and forced an extended half-time delay for ground crews to clear the surface. Spanish full-back Rubén Duarte put Pumas ahead with a 59th-minute header, but former Pumas academy product Diego de Buen equalised nine minutes later with a low drive from outside the box that eluded Navas. Guillermo Martínez then missed a clear chance to restore the lead, and a potential stoppage-time penalty for the hosts was overturned after a VAR review. The result leaves Necaxa seventh in the Apertura standings with five points from four matches, while Pumas sit tenth on four. Navas, who joined the club in July after stints at Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, has a win and two draws in three league outings for the Mexico City side.
