The New York Red Bulls overturned a two-goal deficit with a five-goal second-half surge to defeat the New England Revolution 5–3 at Red Bull Arena on Wednesday night. Daniel Edelman ignited the comeback in the 56th minute, before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Emil Forsberg each struck twice in a 19-minute span that flipped the match. Choupo-Moting levelled the score in the 70th minute and added his 13th goal of the season in the 83rd, while Forsberg scored from open play in the 72nd and converted a penalty six minutes from time. New England had led 2–0 at the interval through Leo Campana’s early strike and an own goal off Red Bulls defender Omar Valencia. Campana added a late consolation in stoppage time, but the Revolution slipped to 0-5-2 since the start of June, while New York extended its home unbeaten streak to six matches.
