The Football Association of Wales said the women’s national team bus was involved in a road-traffic collision on Tuesday while travelling to Arena St. Gallen for its match-day-minus-one training session at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 tournament. All players and staff on board, as well as passengers in the other vehicle, were unharmed, although emergency services treated the other driver at the scene. Head coach Rhian Wilkinson and captain Angharad James, who were travelling separately to a pre-match press conference, confirmed that no one on the squad sustained injuries. Wilkinson added that the team was “shaken” and that football was “secondary” until everyone’s welfare had been assessed. The scheduled training session was cancelled and the squad was taken back to its base in Weinfelden, about 30 minutes from St. Gallen, but may hold a light workout later in the day. The incident comes a day before Wales face France in their second Group D fixture. Wales lost their opener 3–0 to the Netherlands, while France beat defending champion England 2–1. Wednesday’s match remains on the calendar, but Wales’ preparations have been disrupted as officials focus on player welfare.
