The Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Executive Council Chairperson, Helen Zille, has accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of failing to act against corruption within the government, specifically citing corrupt African National Congress (ANC) ministers in Parliament. The DA has also laid a criminal complaint against Higher Education and Training Minister Dr. Nobuhle Nkabane amid controversy surrounding recent SETA board appointments involving ANC-affiliated individuals. The ANC has described the DA's actions against Minister Nkabane as a coordinated political attack, with the ANC Youth League condemning the complaint as politically motivated. Meanwhile, the DA has threatened to bring a motion of no confidence against President Ramaphosa, although Zille indicated caution about using it due to the risk of collapsing the government. Deputy President Paul Mashatile responded by affirming that the National Dialogue will proceed without the DA and that any motion of no confidence will be defeated in the National Assembly. The National Dialogue Preparatory Task Team emphasized that the dialogue is a citizen-led initiative, not government-run, aimed at addressing national challenges. Additionally, some MK Party MPs have called for the removal of chief whip Colleen Makhubele, accusing her of autocratic leadership, and have written to party president Jacob Zuma regarding this matter.
