Authorities have arrested Erika, the mother of a five-day-old baby whose decapitated and dismembered remains were found in a rubbish bin at the Loeches landfill near Madrid in December 2024. Investigators discovered traces of blood in Erika's apartment in Vallecas, and she has denied being pregnant. She was previously under investigation for the death of another newborn. Following the discovery of the baby's remains, a judge ordered Erika's provisional imprisonment, and she was subsequently taken to Estremera prison. The court concluded that Erika dismembered her newborn and disposed of the body in the Loeches landfill.
