Radiotelevisión Española has hired veteran journalist Pepa Bueno to present Telediario 2, the public broadcaster’s prime-time nightly newscast, beginning in September, according to multiple Spanish media reports confirmed by RTVE. Bueno, 62, returns to the programme she fronted from 2009 to 2012. Her appointment follows the departure of current anchor Marta Carazo, who last month left the network to head the communications office of Queen Letizia at Spain’s Royal Household. The move comes barely six weeks after Bueno ended her tenure as editor-in-chief of El País, a post she had held since July 2021. RTVE management has signalled that her return is part of a broader revamp aimed at refreshing the network’s news output for the new season.
