Montserrat Mínguez García has been appointed as the new spokesperson for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), replacing Esther Peña. Alongside Mínguez, Enma López Araújo, Secretary of Economic Policy, Transformation, Entrepreneurship, and Social Change, has been named as the deputy spokesperson. Mínguez, a deputy from Lleida, took on her role following the Federal Executive Committee meeting and has since publicly criticized the opposition People's Party (PP). She accused PP leader Núñez Feijóo of having long engaged in inappropriate associations with narcotrafficking and stated that under PSOE's standards, Feijóo would have been expelled from their party years ago. Mínguez also characterized the PP's recent political direction as a sharp shift towards the far right, abandoning centrist policies. The PSOE has emphasized that it emerged strengthened from the Federal Committee meeting, contrasting with what it described as the PP's regression following its recent congress.
