Y Combinator (YC) has launched the Summer Fellows Grants program, aimed at encouraging undergraduate computer science and engineering students to work on their own technical projects during the summer. The grants, which include $20,000 in cash and $90,000 in compute credits from Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google GCP, are designed to foster intellectual curiosity and technical innovation. Eligible students, including freshmen and those outside the US, do not need to establish a company to receive the funds. The program also offers an automatic invitation to YC's AI Startup School and special events, such as a kickoff dinner and co-working sessions at the YC office. The application deadline for the grants was February 17, 2025.
