A new humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 10 trucks has entered Syria's Sweida province through the Basr al-Sham humanitarian corridor in Daraa countryside. This follows deadly sectarian violence in the region last month, which left thousands dead and displaced. The clashes involved Syrian government forces, Bedouin, and Druze fighters, with accusations of attacks on civilians and Sweida's National Hospital. In response to the violence, hundreds of protesters in Sweida demanded the withdrawal of government troops and the opening of an aid corridor from neighboring Jordan. Many affected families from both communities are now living in shelters. The Syrian government has established an investigative committee led by Judge Hatem Al-Nassan, with lawyer Ammar Ezzedine serving as the official spokesperson. The committee, based at the Ministry of Justice, has begun meeting with officials and affected residents in Sweida and Daraa, aiming to uncover the full truth and identify those responsible. Two hotlines have also been opened to receive complaints from locals.
