Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, an ultra-slim smartphone measuring 5.8mm thick and weighing 163 grams, with a titanium frame. The device is positioned between the Galaxy S25 and S25+ in terms of pricing and specifications, starting at $1,099 for the 256GB model and $1,219 for the 512GB version, making it $100 more than the S25+. The Galaxy S25 Edge features a 6.7-inch 1440x3120 QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,600 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, paired with 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The phone is equipped with a 200MP f/1.7 main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP selfie camera, but does not include a telephoto lens. It offers 2x optical-quality zoom and up to 10x digital zoom. The device is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back, and ships with One UI 7 based on Android 15. AI features include Galaxy AI tools, Google Gemini Live, and a refreshed interface. Samsung promises seven years of software and security updates. A key trade-off for the slim design is the smaller 3,900mAh battery, which supports 25W wired charging (reaching 55% in 30 minutes) and 15W wireless charging. The battery is rated for up to 24 hours of video playback. The S25 Edge lacks Qi2 MagSafe support. Reviews note that while everyday performance is strong, the device is prone to thermal throttling under sustained heavy use, making it less suitable for power users or extended gaming sessions. In parallel, HONOR has launched the HONOR 400, a mid-range smartphone with a 7.3mm slim design and weighing 184 grams. It features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 5000 nits brightness, a 200MP main camera, 12MP ultra-wide/macro camera, 50MP selfie camera, and a 5,300mAh battery with 66W fast charging. The HONOR 400 runs MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, is IP65 certified, and is available in multiple colors. Pricing starts at €499 for the 256GB model and €579 for 512GB, with a launch offer including free earbuds and a fast charger.
