ABC has ordered a 30th season of “The Bachelor,” securing the long-running dating franchise through the 2025-26 broadcast cycle. The pickup cements the show’s status as one of network television’s most durable unscripted titles, debuting in 2002 and spawning numerous spin-offs and international editions. Alongside the renewal, the network elevated Scott Teti to showrunner. Teti currently steers “Bachelor in Paradise” and is credited with refreshing that summer series by adding new compatibility challenges and relocating production to Costa Rica for its 10th season. He takes over the flagship from veteran executive producers Bennett Graebner and Claire Freeland, who remain with the franchise as executive producers. ABC’s decision comes as competition in the reality-dating space intensifies, with Peacock’s “Love Island USA” posting record streaming engagement this summer. By giving the mothership series a creative overhaul ahead of its milestone year, the network aims to keep the brand competitive while expanding its cross-platform footprint on Hulu and Disney’s other streaming outlets.

This year’s ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ is a make-or-break moment: “Can it approach even a 10th of the level of cultural significance that ‘Love Island USA’ has? … If ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ can’t crack into the mamacita memes, it’s dead in the water.” https://t.co/HNgMpvf0P3
