Hulu said it will launch the fifth season of "Only Murders in the Building" on 9 September, releasing the first three episodes at once and rolling out the remaining seven weekly. Disney+ will carry the series in international markets on the same schedule. Series leads Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short return as amateur sleuths Mabel, Charles and Oliver, this time probing the suspicious death of their building’s longtime doorman, Lester. Guest appearances slated for the new season include Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Renée Zellweger and Christoph Waltz, among others. Since its 2021 debut, the comedy–mystery has garnered roughly 60 Emmy nominations. Its fourth season collected seven nods at the 2025 awards, including Outstanding Comedy Series, helping sustain momentum for one of Hulu’s most-watched originals.
