Apple TV+ has commissioned a seventh season of its darkly comedic spy drama “Slow Horses,” marking an unusually early renewal for what is already the service’s longest-running scripted series. The decision was announced more than two months before Season 5 debuts and comes on top of a previously ordered sixth season. Season 7 will consist of six episodes and is slated to enter production in the United Kingdom later this year. Season 5 launches on 24 September, while filming on Season 6 has been completed, ensuring an uninterrupted pipeline of new installments through at least 2027. Adapted from Mick Herron’s bestselling Slough House novels, the series stars Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb alongside Jack Lowden, Kristin Scott Thomas and Jonathan Pryce. Produced by Mediawan-owned See-Saw Films, “Slow Horses” collected nine Primetime Emmy nominations for its third season, including a win for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. Ben Vanstone will again serve as lead writer for Season 7, with Robert McKillop directing.
