Actor John Goodman said he fractured his hip in March while shooting Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s still-untitled comedy starring Tom Cruise. The 73-year-old collapsed in stocking feet during a blocking rehearsal at Pinewood Studios, was rushed to Cleveland Clinic London, and underwent surgery the next morning. Production continued with other cast members, and Goodman returned to work after a month-long convalescence. In the same interview, Goodman disclosed that he has not spoken with former co-star Roseanne Barr for “seven or eight years” and doubts the relationship will thaw. ABC cancelled the 2018 revival of Roseanne following Barr’s racist social-media posts; the spinoff The Conners, featuring Goodman, aired its final episode earlier this year. Goodman, marking 50 years in the business, has wrapped HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones and is promoting Paramount’s animated Smurfs, in which he voices Papa Smurf ahead of the film’s July 18 release.
