A nationwide Gallup survey conducted on July 21 shows Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the only one of five public figures tested with a positive net favorability among U.S. adults. Zelenskyy posts a +18 percentage-point net score, drawing positive ratings from men (+14), women (+24) and every age bracket, including a +26 reading among 18-to-34-year-olds. California Governor Gavin Newsom registers a –11 net favorability, while Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fares slightly better at –4. Both politicians record gender gaps: Newsom is viewed positively by women (+2) but remains underwater with men (–25); Ocasio-Cortez is +9 among women and –25 among men. Tesla and SpaceX chief executive Elon Musk comes in at –28 overall, weighed down by a –50 reading among women and –53 among adults under 35. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posts the weakest showing at –33, though he ekes out a +5 net score among respondents aged 55 and older. The results underscore a stark demographic divide, with younger voters broadly disapproving of the four figures with negative ratings, while Zelenskyy maintains broad cross-demographic appeal one year into Russia’s war against Ukraine.
