Ukrainian forces appear to have hit a large Russian ammunition depot in the occupied city of Khartsyzk, Donetsk region, late on 2 July. Video circulating online shows multiple secondary explosions and a sustained fire at the site, with residents reporting repeated detonations throughout the night. Russian authorities have not publicly confirmed the strike or released casualty figures. Additional footage posted over the weekend indicates that Ukraine’s 414th UAV Brigade, known as “Birds of Magyar,” used first-person-view drones to destroy several smaller field stockpiles and a fully loaded BM-21 Grad multiple-launch rocket system on 7 July, also in the Donetsk area. One clip shows the Grad launcher erupting in a catastrophic ammunition cook-off moments after being struck. The attacks underline Kyiv’s increasing reliance on precision drones and long-range munitions to degrade Russian supply lines and artillery assets behind the front lines in eastern Ukraine. Moscow has yet to comment on the reported losses.
A Russian MLRS was getting ready to launch strikes, then a strike made it detonate, together with all the ammunition. Very impressive! Glory! 📹: "Madiar" https://t.co/CI8DPzueQs
💥 Epic explosion of Russian Grad unguided rocket MLRS in occupied Donetsk region. We don't really see too many of these systems anymore, probably because Ukraine destroyed over 1,000 of them since 2022. https://t.co/pAG0Fp2vQr
