Ukrainian forces have successfully employed FPV drones to destroy key Russian and North Korean-supplied artillery systems in the ongoing conflict. The 413th UAV Battalion, also known as "Raid," confirmed the first recorded destruction of a North Korean M1991 240mm multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) in the Donetsk region. The M1991, a North Korean variant of the Soviet 220mm Uragan MLRS with an increased caliber of 240mm and a range of up to 60 kilometers, was struck by a drone targeting one of its rockets, causing an explosion that pierced the crew cabin. Additionally, the 414th UAV Brigade, referred to as "Birds or Magyar," conducted a drone strike on a fully loaded Russian BM-21 Grad 122mm MLRS in the Donetsk region, resulting in a catastrophic ammunition detonation. This strike was documented as causing a powerful explosion that destroyed the launcher and its munitions. Further, Ukrainian forces from the 5th Assault Brigade destroyed a Russian 120mm 2S9 Nona-S self-propelled gun in the Donetsk direction. These drone strikes demonstrate Ukraine's increasing use of unmanned aerial vehicles to target and neutralize artillery assets supplied to Russian forces, including rare North Korean systems.
