U.S. Border Czar Tom Homan said federal prosecutors will pursue felony charges against anyone who knowingly harbors unauthorized migrants or assaults Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. “If you put hands on an ICE officer, that’s a felony,” Homan said during public remarks on Tuesday, adding that similar penalties apply to individuals who conceal immigrants from the agency. Homan also underscored the agency’s public-safety focus, stating that about 70% of ICE arrests involve people with criminal records or those deemed threats. He said the enforcement actions result in the removal of “thousands of criminal aliens” from the United States.
