President Donald Trump’s job-approval ratings are holding steady at break-even levels in several national surveys, with Rasmussen Reports’ daily tracking on Aug. 13 showing 49% of likely voters approving of his performance and an equal share disapproving. Across a broader mix of polls, the RealClearPolitics average puts Trump’s approval at 45.9% 205 days into his second term. That figure tops the 43.8% recorded for Barack Obama and the 43.2% for George W. Bush at the same stage of their presidencies. A Morning Consult survey conducted Aug. 8-10 found Trump one point lower, at 46% approval and 51% disapproval, but gave him majority backing on immigration policy at 52% and a near-even split on his economic stewardship, 46% approve to 47% disapprove. Support remains far weaker among Black Americans: an Economist/YouGov poll fielded Aug. 11 reported just 14% approval and 82% disapproval. The combined data suggest incremental gains for the president overall even as sizable demographic gaps persist.
