Only one in four U.S. adults say they have benefited from President Donald Trump’s policies, according to a new nationwide survey by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Conducted July 10–14 among 1,437 adults, the poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points. Roughly half of respondents report that Trump’s policies have harmed them, while about two in ten see no tangible impact. The president’s overall job-approval rating remains near 40%, broadly unchanged from June and below the levels recorded by recent predecessors at a similar point in their terms. Trump fails to secure majority approval on any major issue covered in the poll. Support for his handling of immigration has slipped to 43% from 49% in March, and only about four in ten approve of his performance on the economy and government spending. The findings come as the White House struggles with elevated inflation, the fiscal effects of a July 4 budget bill projected to add $3.3 trillion to the debt, and criticism of the administration’s tariff policy.
