BREAKING: President Trump claims Democrats may have planted evidence in the Epstein files to frame him.
TRUMP SUGGESTS DEMOCRATS “PLANTED” NAMES IN EPSTEIN FILES
U.S. President Donald Trump alleged on Monday that Democrats may have “put things in” the sealed law-enforcement files tied to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, calling the documents “a fake” during a joint news conference with U.K. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer at the Trump Turnberry golf resort in Scotland. Trump’s remarks revive scrutiny of his own past acquaintance with Epstein. The president said he rejected an invitation to visit Epstein’s Little St James island and claimed their relationship soured after Epstein “poached staff” from one of his properties. On the campaign trail in 2024 Trump promised to fully release the Epstein files, but the Justice Department has since resisted further disclosures, citing ongoing legal proceedings. Vice President JD Vance told reporters in Ohio that the administration still seeks “full transparency” and is pushing for grand-jury transcripts to be unsealed, though one judge has already denied the request. The president offered no evidence for his assertion that Democrats had tampered with the records, and the Department of Justice has not commented on the allegation.
