A federal judge has refused to dismiss a civil complaint brought by former tour cameraman Emilio Garcia against rapper Megan Thee Stallion and her management company, Roc Nation, allowing the case to proceed. U.S. District Judge Gregory H. Woods ruled on 7 July that Garcia’s allegations—filed as a workplace discrimination and harassment suit—were sufficiently detailed for litigation to continue. Garcia claims he was forced to witness Megan Thee Stallion engaging in sexual activity in a car while working on her European tour and was later fired after raising objections. The defendants argued for dismissal, but the court found that Garcia presented enough factual support at this stage. No trial date has been set, and representatives for Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation have not publicly commented. The ruling drew an immediate response from Nicki Minaj, who mocked the outcome on Instagram and referred to the decision as “Karma’s law.” Minaj, whose rivalry with Megan Thee Stallion escalated last year through a series of diss tracks, also targeted Roc Nation founder Jay-Z, repeating an unsubstantiated claim that he owes her “about $100-200 million” and saying she would use part of it to help fans with tuition. Jay-Z, Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation have yet to address Minaj’s remarks.
