August 9, 2025, marks the third anniversary of the CHIPS and Science Act, signed into law by President Joe Biden. The legislation has driven substantial investments in American semiconductor and microchip manufacturing, creating over 115,000 jobs and attracting more than $395 billion in private sector investments. Lawmakers emphasize the act's role in strengthening U.S. manufacturing, boosting innovation, securing supply chains, and enhancing the country's competitiveness in science and technology. They also highlight ongoing efforts to defend and build upon the progress made under this law. Separately, the "One Big Beautiful Bill," signed by former President Donald Trump on July 4, 2025, delivers the largest tax cut for families, farmers, workers, seniors, and small businesses. This bill allocates $125 million annually to the Agriculture Research Facilities Act, supporting American agricultural universities' infrastructure. It also includes pro-growth, pro–small business tax reforms, such as an increased 199A Qualified Business Income deduction benefiting tens of thousands of small businesses, and expands workforce opportunities to equip Americans with skills for the 21st-century economy.
Thanks to the One Big Beautiful Bill’s pro-growth, pro–small business tax reforms, 63,780 small businesses in my District will benefit from an increased 199A Qualified Business Income deduction, letting them keep more of what they earn! https://t.co/NRxs3tTAa0
