Maryland Governor Wes Moore said on Sunday that he is considering redrawing the state’s congressional map in a way that could eliminate Maryland’s lone Republican-held U.S. House seat. In an interview with CBS News, the Democrat stated that “all options are on the table” and added that it “behooves each and every one of us” to weigh even retaliatory district lines. Moore framed the move as a possible response to Republican gerrymanders recently enacted in Texas and other states. The seat at risk is represented by six-term Rep. Andy Harris, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus. Moore did not outline a timeline but indicated that the idea is under active review, a step that would require approval from the Democratic-controlled state legislature and could face legal challenges.

Eliminating the only Republican seat in Maryland is not “defending democracy.” It will, however, ensure Republican states — which have been fairer than Democratic states — will eliminate every Democrat-held seat they can, wiping out Newsom’s party, thanks to his kamikaze tactics. https://t.co/l9xV3i50nw
