Kris is one of the best I have met in my time in tech. Great investor, advisor and person. https://t.co/eFZNzXRcje
Kris Fredrickson is one of the sharpest minds I’ve ever encountered. World class partner, investor, student of the game and I’m lucky to call him a friend. Go get em brother 👊 https://t.co/0Wg7hhxvbS
Verified is my largest LP commitment to date. Kris is both a close friend and a great investor. He’s routinely showed up for me in times of need as I know he has with so many people in his life. If you can get him in your corner, I recommend it. https://t.co/rHJyDB4g2k
Kris Fredrickson, a former managing partner at Coatue Management and earlier investor at Benchmark, has launched Verified Capital with an oversubscribed, $175 million debut fund. The vehicle will make just eight to ten investments and places no fixed requirements on ownership levels or board seats, giving the firm leeway to invest across stages and sectors while focusing on artificial-intelligence opportunities. Limited partners include Instacart co-founder Apoorva Mehta, Coinbase Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong, Harvey AI CEO Winston Weinberg, angel investor Elad Gil and institutions such as Adams Street Partners, Commonfund and Northwestern University’s endowment. Verified Capital has already backed legal-tech company Harvey AI, luxury concierge platform Atlas and AI search engine Perplexity. Fredrickson has joined Perplexity’s board, filling the seat vacated by former Uber executive Emil Michael after his appointment as a U.S. under secretary of defense. During his decade at Coatue, Fredrickson led or co-led growth investments in companies including Chime, Marqeta and Checkout.com. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs and co-founded skincare startup Curology. The new fund aims to leverage that operating and investment experience to support what Fredrickson calls “the next generation of category-defining AI companies.”
