Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro accused Colombian drug trafficking groups and the Albanian mafia, which he claims controls political power in Ecuador, of financing campaigns against the Bolivarian Revolution. In response, Maduro announced a "special offensive" to strengthen internal security in Venezuela. He emphasized the reinforcement and consolidation of the "Cuadrantes de Paz" within communal circuits through the implementation of the third phase of the 3T strategic plan. During a related event, Maduro promoted 12 members of the Venezuelan Armed Forces to the rank of major general and awarded the "Order of Peace" to officials from the SEBIN and DGCIM for their role in maintaining peace. Maduro also highlighted the importance of unity among the military, police, and organized civil society in ensuring Venezuela’s peace, stability, and sovereignty. Meanwhile, the United States is reportedly preparing further actions to pressure Maduro but has ruled out military intervention, urging Venezuelans to rise and demand their freedom. Various ecosocialist, environmentalist, and populist movements in Venezuela have expressed support for Maduro in the face of perceived threats from the U.S. government. Additionally, Maduro is promoting a Colombia-Venezuela alliance to counter what he describes as U.S. aggression.
