The Venezuelan government, led by Interior, Justice and Peace Minister Diosdado Cabello, has dismantled multiple alleged terrorist plots aimed at destabilizing the country. Authorities uncovered explosive materials in two warehouses in Maturín, Monagas state, intended for attacks, including a planned bombing in Plaza Venezuela, Caracas. Cabello accused the Venezuelan far-right opposition, allied with criminal gangs and narco-paramilitary groups, of orchestrating these operations with direct support from the United States. He specifically named opposition figure María Corina Machado as the leader of the operation and accused Iván Simonovis of planning the Caracas attack. The government also highlighted the involvement of Colombian narcotrafficking routes and Albanian mafia networks linked to Ecuador in financing anti-government campaigns. President Nicolás Maduro condemned these plots, attributing them to armed criminal gangs financed by narcotrafficking and the U.S., and pledged to strengthen community security through the third phase of the strategic 3T plan. The National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez denounced infiltration by fascist elements disguised as leftists and accused the U.S. of attempting to sow terror through destabilizing tactics. Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil affirmed national security is guaranteed despite these threats. In response, thousands of Venezuelans participated in nationwide marches supporting Maduro and denouncing narco-terrorism and imperialist interference.
