Venezuelan authorities have arrested a Spanish citizen who was a crew member aboard a Panamanian-flagged treasure-hunting vessel intercepted in Venezuelan territorial waters near the Esequibo region. This individual is reportedly a sailor and journalist, marking the third Spanish national detained in Venezuela within the past year. The Panamanian Maritime Authority is actively coordinating assistance for the detained crew members, which include a Panamanian national. Separately, the U.S. Border Patrol has apprehended a Venezuelan migrant wanted by Interpol for homicide. This individual was arrested in Michigan after attending a migration appointment in Puerto Rico. The suspect faces charges related to the murder of two women in Chicago, with a third woman surviving the attack. Additionally, Venezuela's Ministry of Defense recently intercepted a vessel suspected of carrying illicit goods.
