Venezuela commenced its electoral campaign on July 11, 2025, in preparation for the municipal elections scheduled for July 27, 2025. These elections will determine the mayors and council members for the 335 municipalities across the country. Over 50 political parties have launched their campaigns, including the Great Patriotic Pole, which has actively mobilized support for its candidates advocating the Bolivarian socialist model. The National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that as of mid-July, the electoral process was 84.45% complete in accordance with the established schedule. The CNE also introduced a new Electoral Offer Disclosure System to enhance transparency and democratic participation. President Nicolás Maduro announced incentives, including "double prizes," to encourage voter turnout. In the days leading up to the election, both the ruling Chavismo and opposition parties made final appeals for voter participation. On July 25, a nationwide dry law and border closures were implemented as part of election day preparations. The CNE confirmed that 99.02% of polling stations were installed and ready for voting. Approximately 1,400 national and international observers were deployed to monitor the electoral process.
