Venezuela Calls U.S. Reward for Maduro 'Pathetic'; Cuba, Evo Morales Condemn; Analyst Simonovis Supports Capture Efforts
The Venezuelan government has dismissed the new reward offered by the United States for information leading to the capture of President Nicolás Maduro as "pathetic and ridiculous." Maduro condemned an alleged terrorist attack planned by far-right groups to take place in Plaza Venezuela, Caracas. The Venezuelan prosecutor also rejected the reward, calling it "infamous." Meanwhile, Cuba and former Bolivian President Evo Morales condemned the U.S. action, labeling it an act of aggression and a new threat against Maduro. The opposition party Primero Justicia acknowledged the suffering of the Venezuelan people in response to the reward. Intelligence analyst Iván Simonovis described Maduro as a terrorist and supported all measures aimed at his detention, noting the doubling of the reward amount by the U.S.
