John Wick Hex, the only officially licensed video-game tie-in to the Keanu Reeves action franchise, will be removed from sale across all major digital storefronts on 17 July, publisher Big Fan Games said in a statement to the game’s community. The tactical strategy title, created by UK studio Bithell Games and released in October 2019, will no longer be available to buy on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Nintendo Switch once the deadline passes. Customers who already own the game will retain access through their digital libraries, and existing physical console copies will continue to function. Big Fan Games did not give a reason for the delisting, but industry analysts point to the likely expiration of its licence with franchise owner Lionsgate Entertainment—a frequent trigger for the withdrawal of licensed games. The move leaves the market without an in-print John Wick title, although Lionsgate has previously confirmed plans to back a separate AAA project set in the same universe.
