The International Criminal Court (ICC) has expressed concern over ongoing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Sudan, where a civil war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been active for more than two years. Since 2023, the conflict has resulted in over 40,000 deaths and displaced nearly 13 million people. Recent intensified clashes in Sudan's Kordofan region have led to hundreds of deaths and numerous injuries. Paramilitary RSF forces have attacked several villages in Kordofan, killing over 200 civilians in a series of assaults, including brutal attacks on villages such as Bara in North Kordofan. Renewed shelling of the city of Al-Ubayyid and continued civilian casualties in West Kordofan have been reported. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) highlighted the worsening humanitarian situation, noting that around 3,000 displaced persons have arrived in the town of Al-Dabba in Northern State, exacerbating pressure on already scarce resources.
