The official said Trump has long viewed Russia as holding the battlefield advantage and has communicated that assessment to close advisers. While the White House remains engaged in talks aimed at brokering a settlement, officials acknowledge the negotiations have become a “grind.” Trump has expressed confidence that discussions with the Kremlin can still yield an agreement, but frustration is growing over resistance from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and key European partners, the report said.
