Ukrainian Hackers Target Russian ISP Nodex, Disrupt Connectivity; PayPal Phishing Scheme Exposed

Ukrainian hackers have claimed responsibility for a cyberattack that targeted the Russian Internet Service Provider (ISP) Nodex, resulting in significant disruptions to its network and causing widespread internet outages. The Ukrainian Cyber Alliance reported that they successfully destroyed Nodex's connectivity, marking a notable escalation in cyber hostilities between Ukraine and Russia. In a separate incident, a phishing scheme has emerged that exploits PayPal's legitimate email notifications to deceive users into surrendering their account credentials. Fortinet's Chief Information Security Officer, Carl Windsor, highlighted the risks associated with this phishing tactic, which aims to gain unauthorized access to PayPal accounts.
