Ukrainian defence-technology initiative ODIN has introduced the “Anti-Shahed” system, a network of high-speed Win_Hit drones designed to intercept Iranian-made Shahed and Geran unmanned aerial vehicles deployed by Russia. According to specialist outlet Militarnyi, the system is already operating in combat zones. Each electric Win_Hit drone cruises at roughly 200–220 kilometres per hour and accelerates to about 300 km/h during the terminal attack phase. The battery-powered aircraft can remain aloft for seven to ten minutes and is small enough to be launched from mobile, handheld or airborne platforms, giving Ukrainian units a rapid-response tool against low-flying loitering munitions. The rollout underscores Kyiv’s push to layer its air-defence network as Russia escalates drone strikes on energy and civilian infrastructure. Separately, French start-up Harmattan AI this week presented its Gobi interceptor—an under-2-kilogram drone capable of 250 km/h—highlighting broader European efforts to field fast, low-cost counters to kamikaze UAVs.
