Microsoft has detailed its plans for Gamescom 2025, confirming that attendees in Cologne from 20–24 August will be able to play the first public demo of Hollow Knight: Silksong. The appearance marks the long-awaited sequel’s first hands-on showing since 2019 and will be hosted at the Xbox booth on both PC and the new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds. The company will also offer the inaugural public try-outs of its ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X devices, developed with Asus. The Windows-based handhelds will run Silksong demos alongside titles such as Roblox and Sea of Thieves, and will feature in live broadcasts streamed from the show floor on 20 and 21 August. In total, Xbox plans to feature more than 20 games across more than 120 stations. Highlights include playable builds of Ninja Gaiden 4, Grounded 2 and Borderlands 4, plus a theatre presentation for The Outer Worlds 2. Microsoft is combining the showcase with community events such as the 10th-anniversary Xbox FanFest and daily competitions tied to its Digital Passport Quest promotion.
People will have another chance to play Hollow Knight: Silksong next month, but they'll have to go to Gamescom 2025 to do so. https://t.co/VlDt0Ac6nT
