Chatbot Arena, a popular AI benchmarking platform primarily run by UC Berkeley-affiliated researchers, has announced the formation of a new company named Arena Intelligence Inc. This move is aimed at raising venture funding to enhance the platform's capabilities. The company's establishment was shared alongside the launch of a new beta version of the Chatbot Arena website, which includes improvements to the user interface based on community feedback. Arena Intelligence Inc. plans to use the new resources to significantly improve the platform beyond its current state. The company has committed to maintaining a neutral testing ground for AI, free from external influences. Previously, Chatbot Arena was supported by grants and donations from entities such as Google's Kaggle, Andreessen Horowitz, and Together AI. The platform has partnered with companies including OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic to make flagship models available for community evaluation.
