Several Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers reported their July 2025 delivery figures, highlighting ongoing competition in the market. Xpeng's monthly deliveries surpassed 30,000 units for the ninth consecutive month. Leapmotor set a new record by delivering 50,129 vehicles in July, marking its first month exceeding 50,000 units and a 126% year-on-year increase. Li Auto delivered 30,731 vehicles in July, representing a 40% decline year-on-year and a 2.21% decrease in deliveries over the first seven months of 2025. Nio delivered 21,017 vehicles in July, a 2.53% increase year-on-year but a 15.68% drop from June. The July deliveries for Nio included 12,675 vehicles from its main brand, 5,976 from Onvo, and 2,366 from Firefly. Onvo began deliveries of the L90 model in 44 Chinese cities, increasing test drive vehicles to 1,000, which contributed to an 8.8% jump in Nio's stock price. Nio plans to unveil the third-generation ES8 in late August, with an official launch at Nio Day 2025 in September. Xiaomi also reported delivering over 30,000 vehicles in July. Macquarie analyst Eugene Hsiao upgraded Nio to a 'Buy' rating, raising the price target from $3.90 to $5.50, reflecting a 41.03% increase. Year-to-date, Nio's deliveries reached 135,167 vehicles, up 25.2% year-on-year, with cumulative deliveries hitting 806,731 as of July 31, 2025. The competitive landscape includes Tesla, Nio, and Li Auto targeting mainland Chinese families with premium SUVs.
