Global sales of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles increased by 24% in June 2025 compared to the same month last year, driven primarily by strong demand in China and Europe, according to market research firm Rho Motion. The first half of 2025 saw total EV sales reach 9.1 million units, marking a 28% rise year-over-year. China led the growth with a 32% increase, accounting for 5.5 million vehicles sold, while Europe experienced a 26% rise with 2 million units sold. In contrast, the North American market showed weaker performance, with the United States registering only a 6% increase and Canada experiencing a 23% decline in EV sales during the same period.
