Maduro Backs Bolivia’s Bicentennial Unity Amid Trump Threats, Citing Latin America Dispute and Bolívar Legacy

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has expressed strong support for Bolivia during the bicentennial commemoration of the country's founding. Maduro emphasized that Bolivia will regain its path through unity and assured that the Bolivarian people of Venezuela stand with Bolivia in all future efforts of resistance and emancipation. He highlighted the historical significance of Bolivia as a symbol of freedom since the era of Simón Bolívar. Maduro also characterized Latin America and the Caribbean as a contested region between the power of its peoples and the obstructive projects of the United States government. Responding to escalating threats from the Trump administration against Venezuela's sovereignty, Maduro accused the U.S. of acting out of animosity toward Latin American peoples. He reaffirmed Venezuela's commitment to democratic principles, stating that all public positions in Venezuela are elected by popular vote, and declared that Venezuela will never relinquish its libertarian ideals symbolized by the flags of Simón Bolívar.
