Eduardo Siqueira Campos, the mayor of Palmas, capital of Tocantins and member of the Podemos party, was arrested by the Federal Police on June 27, 2025, during a new phase of Operation Sisamnes. The operation, authorized by the Supreme Federal Court, investigates the alleged leaking of confidential information and the sale of judicial decisions involving the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). Alongside Siqueira Campos, a civil police officer and a lawyer were also detained. Following his arrest, the mayor was held in a military police facility. On July 8, 2025, while in custody, Siqueira Campos suffered an acute myocardial infarction and was urgently taken to the Hospital Geral de Palmas, where he underwent a catheterization procedure without complications. He remains hospitalized under observation. The investigation has revealed that the mayor monitored federal police officers, and the case continues to uncover a network of political influence associated with the leaks and sale of court rulings.
