The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro conducted a series of operations targeting drug trafficking and arms supply networks linked to Brazil's two largest criminal factions, Comando Vermelho (CV) and Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC). Authorities arrested a man and a woman identified as operators responsible for supplying weapons and drugs. Additional operations included the detention of a trafficker in Duque de Caxias who disguised himself as a fisherman and used a boat to transport drugs to a local community. In the Região Serrana area, police apprehended a leader of the Comando Vermelho at a motel. Separate arrests were made in Casimiro de Abreu and Rio das Ostras involving individuals accused of domestic violence, as well as a criminal in Duque de Caxias charged with qualified receiving and illegal sale of medications. These actions reflect ongoing law enforcement efforts to disrupt organized crime and related illegal activities in the Rio de Janeiro metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
