Prime Minister’s Questions on 9 July turned fractious when Reform UK leader Nigel Farage was repeatedly interrupted while asking the prime minister about Channel-crossing migration. Shouts of “because they were lied to” came from the benches behind him, alleged to be Independent MP Iqbal Mohammed of Dewsbury. As the heckling continued, Reform UK MP Lee Anderson was heard telling the interrupter, “Will you shut up?”. Anderson later raised a point of order, complaining that Farage’s question could not be heard over the noise. Speaker Lindsay Hoyle reminded members to show “respect and tolerance”. Farage had argued that post-Brexit border control was a central public demand and urged Keir Starmer to stand firm with French President Emmanuel Macron over small-boat crossings. Starmer replied that the government was “working with other countries” to fix the issue and accused Farage of exploiting the problem rather than solving it.
Shocking Behaviour Today @Nigel_Farage put a question to the PM but was constantly heckled by the Member for Dewsbury. You will hear in the clip that I asked him to 'shut up'. I then raised a point of order. Roll on 2029 when @reformparty_uk will be at the Despatch Box. https://t.co/ztjcCcc7ls
