Sir Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, laid wreaths at the 7/7 Memorial in Hyde Park to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the July 7, 2005 terrorist attacks in London. The attacks, carried out by suicide bombers, resulted in the deaths of 52 people and injured more than 770 others. The memorial service included the laying of wreaths and the symbolic falling of white petals from the dome of St Paul’s Cathedral to honor the victims.
