London’s Metropolitan Police have opened a murder investigation after a man in his 30s was fatally stabbed outside the five-star Park Tower Knightsbridge hotel and adjoining casino on Seville Street at about 9:24 p.m. on Wednesday, 9 July. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance treated the victim at the scene, but he was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. Officers have cordoned off the street, erected a forensic tent outside the hotel and are conducting door-to-door inquiries. No arrests have been made and detectives said several lines of inquiry are under way. Police asked anyone with information to call 101 quoting reference CAD 8521/09JUL or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously. The killing occurred amid wider efforts by City Hall and the Metropolitan Police to increase patrols in town-centre crime hotspots over the summer.
